Miranda Lambert has made history by becoming the first woman in the history of the CMA Awards to score nine nominations -- tying her with her idol, Merle Haggard. Miranda racked up multiple nods in the Single of the Year and Video of the Year categories for "White Liar" and the "House That Built Me," and she's up for Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year for "White Liar," and Musical Event of the Year for "Bad Angel" with Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson.
Miranda will be at the Spirit Bank Event Center on October 21st.
Little Big Town On Top
Little Big Town have their first number-one country album with The Reason Why, which sold 42,000 copies last week, according to the latest SoundScan figures.
The critically acclaimed Randy Rogers Band also makes an impressive debut at number-two with Burning the Day. Last week's number-one debut, Trace Adkins' Cowboy's Back in Town, gets bumped to number-three, narrowly edging out Lady Antebellum's Need You Now. And Zac Brown Band's The Foundation rounds out the Top 5.
So Long Brooks And Dunn
If you log onto the Brooks and Dunn website, you'll see one last lonely date on their itinerary as their Last Rodeo Tour and their career as an award-winning duo comes to an end. The final show, held at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, will benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and fans will likely be surprised by numerous surprise guests who show up to be a part of this history making event.
