1 . Lived in Europe for 4 years and 13 days. (late 70's early 80's) Saw the Berlin Wall . Crossed Check Point Charlie. Best friend was Tim Moot...don't know where he went ( He and I would play football in the backyard...I'd be the QB he'd be the receiver. I sucked at throwing the ball, but boy could he catch em. His coach complimented him one day, "Tim, you're unbelievable, you can catch the ball no matter how bad it's thrown." Tim said, "it's cause of my friend Jim, he can't throw the ball to save his life !" Gee, thanks buddy.
2 . Best vacation as a kid was going canal boating in England (lived on a 40 foot long 10 foot wide canal boat...the thing was decked out like an RV...we motored along the canals of England. Gotta do that with Tracey and the kids)
3 . Never seen ET . Didn't see Rambo until 2002, Terminator until 2003.
4 . Won the National Championship NJROTC Drill Team competition my senior year of High School. Won the National Championship NJROTC Color Guard competition my Junior year.
5 . Biggest accomplishment I'm proud of in the last 10 years...learning to drive a school bus . I hadn't taken the time to learned a new skill in yearsl.
6 . Most scared I've been in the last 10 years...first day I drove that school bus. I've never been so scared in my entire life . Ask Tracey, she'll back me up on that one.
7 . I'd love to win a CMA Award for Best Radio Personality
8 . If I never had to talk on the phone again I'd be happy
9 . I can't control myself when it comes to snacking. I beg Tracey to not have sweets/cookies/chips in the house. I'll stand in front of the cupboard and gorge myself on anything and everything I can find . I can't stop and I hate the fact I'm doing it the entire time I'm doing it. I kind of understand people who have an addiction and how they suffer.
10 . Every time Tracey has me go to the store I buy some kind of snack. Go for a gallon of milk...I get a Snickers . Need to get a can of corn for a recipe....I throw in a package of cookies.
11 . I talk to my dog Casey. There's a reason Dogs are man's best friend . Casey helped me through some tough times...and my dog growing up, Sonar, helped me make it through High School.
12 . First car accident I had was because I sneezed. I was stopped at a stoplight...light turned green...I let my foot off the break when I saw the car in front of me move...I sneezed a huge sneeze...and BUMP I smacked the guy in front of me. When my eyes closed because of the sneeze the car in front of me put on its breaks. No damage and the other driver let me go.
13 . I'm banned for life from entering Otterbein College's Mayne Hall. My senior year my friends and I decided to break into the tunnels under Otterbein. We got into the basement, had three of the four screws off the grate that covers the tunnel entrance when an RA busted us. So close. Punishment...I'm never allowed to enter the Dorm. I think I can live with that.
14 . I have seven national awards from the Children's Miracle Network for the story songs I've put together for the CMN Radiothon I hosted on K99.1FM in Dayton.
15. I've always paid my credit cards off at the end of the month (thanks Dad)
16. I lived in Dayton for nine years and only made it into the first room of the Air Force Museum. I grew up just north of Washington DC and never toured the White House.
17. I love going to Church. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I can't always see his hand moving in my life right now but I can look back and see every single thing he's done for me...awesome
18. I've never been good at keeping in touch with friends. I'm jealous of people who can.
19. I was scared of horse back riding for six years after the horse I was riding bit my brand-new wife of six days on the butt...she had the most uncomfortable plane trip back from Mexico.
20. If I could live anywhere...I'd choose Arizona. I love the American Southwest...the colors are amazing, the sky goes on forever and the hikes are breathtaking.
21. If I could be anyone I would choose my Dad.
22. Someone I'm proud of...my brother Don. I've never seen him waiver. When he believes in something he stands strong behind it. He has a faith in God that makes mine look insignificant.
23. I knew I was going to marry Tracey the moment I first shook her hand...gotta watch out for those office romances.
24. Best present I ever got for Tracey (at least "best" from my point of view) the backyard planter I built in Dayton. I moved to Dayton a few months before Tracey. Our townhouse was about 20x20. I got a bunch of lumber and made huge raised planters around the perimeter of the yard. I didn't have dirt so I filled the planters with compost. I gotta tell you...when Tracey arrived those flowers were bigger and brighter then anything I'd ever seen. Her smile made it all worthwhile.
