Junk food & Celebrity Ghost stories!

Ah, sitting here eating food that is way bad for me...sour cream & cheese Ruffles while I gaze over to Jim's side of the office...and notice he brought 3, yes 3 of those tiny oranges...one of them is green though...eww! He always eats old fruit. Why? He brings in black bananas and LOVES them I swear he does. He's so Mr. healthy...I used to be like that. I wish I still was. Now, I just want to lay on the couch and watch American Idol and Dancing With the Stars. It's not that I don't want to be healthy. I drug the tredmill into the living room and have actually walked on it twice. It's just I keep finding other things I'd rather do. I'd rather play with the dogs or plant flowers in the yard.

I LOVE and I mean LOVE the show Celebrity Ghost Stories! Have you watched that show? We are DVRing it now. It's crazy, bigtime celebs talk about their ghosts. Some are more angel stories. Some are so funny and some are creepy. We are addicted!

Anyway,if you haven't seen it yet look for it, they have tons of stars on there... the other night Scott Baio was on and cried and then, one of the Golden Girls (the nasty one, that had all the boyfriends...Rue something... didn't even believe in and afterlife...but she does now!) It's a crazy show but a fun show!
Well, better go for now have a great day :)
Kelley $

Back from vacation.....
Hope everyone is doing well, the goats and llamas turned 1. We had a big bonfire/hotdog-cake-eatin'-smore makin' b-day party for them. It was fun, with party hats and everything:)

We looked up and Eli (our 7 yr old) was eating the llama cake, he didn't realze his cake was back up at the house, kind of made us laugh and grossed us out all at the same time. But he usually does... he's ALL boy!

He said some of the funniest things this week to me also. He wanted to talk to me about the "black and white days" ...we were looking at some black and white photos...and I had to explain to him that there has always been color, and that those were just the photos. Later he was listening to his I-Pod to "It's Alright" by Darius Rucker and he said that was Dad's favorite song and he thought he knew why...with this devious grin he said it was because it said "He had a good woman sleeping in his bed and it was alright". I told John and we laughed. He is one smooth talker!!
I opened up email today and a friend sent some cute e-mails of things kids say so I thought I'd share a few that made me laugh. Hope you have a great Monday.

Kelley $

DJ (age 4)
Stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost?'

The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget ....
This particular Sunday sermon....'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with
arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face.
'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that
moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and
asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom,
what is butt dust?'

Jobs in Oklahoma/ New Nashville Show To Audition For!

Had to blog about this...I know so many people looking for jobs right now...I had a remote last night at West Corporations and they are hiring. They are a call center. The people that I talked to while I was doing a live broadcast seemed like really nice people. I noticed they have security there, so that showed me they seem to care about there employees and everyone that worked for them seemed pretty happy. Anyway I just wanted to pass that along to you. You can check out their website at www.westemployment.com I know they mentioned some special benefits for people with backgrounds with insurance.

Also all you singers out there, they are having auditions for a new musical show called "A Hard Road to Nashville" at Tulsa County Line, the club that used to be called Redneck Country in Catoosa! The show looks VERY cool! Where you are on a tour bus live from town to town on your way to Nashville. You can read all about it on the link I put on the Cash and Carey page on our website...and if you make it to the top...remember your good buds Cash & Carey at K95 and give us lots of interviews:)!

Hope you are having a great week! I am about to freeze my buns off....I am so sick of winter & so ready for spring! My goats and lamas are going stir crazy! I'm starting to see a little grass popping out so it gives me hope. Well, drop me a line sometime and let me know you guys are still listening and have a great week:)

The Christmas Surprise

Hello there,

Hope you guys had a great Christmas! We sure did. It was kind of an eye opener though with the Oklahoma Blizzard 2009. It sort of came out of no where...but then I thought... did it really?...

I have always felt all things happen for a reason...and well, this snow storm seemed to slow my family way down, but I thought in a good way. It seems like the last 5 yrs or so when Christmas would get close I would get in sort of a cranky mood. I would start to stress out about money (being a single Mom for most of the time I have raised my boys) Christmas was always more stressfull than the usual months of just trying to make ends meet. It seemed like every yr, the toys, video games, etc. got more and more expensive.

A voice inside always said to me... it's not what Christmas is about, but you still have all that pressure. What are you getting the kids for Christmas? You are bombarded by stuff all around you. It's hard for it not to get to you. This year, (being married was a bit of a relief) but having 5 kids, we still had to set limits.

When the snow hit, it just left a sense of peace...everything stopped. No deadlines to meet, we were just stuck in the house. I loved it. We watched Christmas shows together, talked about the real meaning of Christmas. We baked bread....then we baked more bread (the 1st batch was really bad-haha). I trimmed John's ears with the nose-hair trimmer he got for Christmas and we laughed. We chased each other around the house in our pjs and socks gathering up enough electricity to shock each other on the nose. I don't know how many times we watched "It's a Wonderful life.", but I caught things each time I hadn't seen before.

We played in the snow and John pulled us around on the sled from the tractor. It was our puppy "Tucker's 1st ride on a sled! We just had a ball.

When the ice did begin to melt a bit, my ex came by to pick up the boys and got his car stuck and the kids announced he might have to "stay the night". I have never seen John move so fast! He plowed the snow up and down our drive and the street in front of our neighborhood to help him get out- awful nice of him I thought:) haha!

When the kids opened Christmas presents and every last present was opened and the youngest announced "I didn't get a "Snuggie!" that is when we sat down for a family meeting and decided we were going to make some changes for next years Christmas.

Christmas isn't going to be about what you get. For us, it's going to be about what we can do together and ways we can celebrate Jesus's birthday.

We decided we are going to make all of our own Christmas ornaments. We'll string popcorn and make those little chains of red and green paper and things like that and the youngest, (Eli) came up with the great idea of making our own Christmas cards!

We also decided to put ideas down and throw them in a bowl, of things we can do together to honor his birthday like visit the elderly or do the Angel tree or bake cookies for a neighbor (what ever it is we draw from the bowl, we will do as a family), the weekends during the month leading up to Christmas.

I'm so excited about Christmas next year I can't wait!

I got several e-mails this year from people needing help for Christmas, and then follow-up e-mails from people saying the tree they cut from their own backyard instead of the store-bought one was so much more sweet. I think maybe "our real gift" this year was the snow and the "slow down"...for me anyway, because it made me realize I need to speak up and say I'm not doing all that anymore. I'm going back to the basics.

Anyway for me, it was the best Christmas ever and what ever this New Year brings, my eyes have been re-focused and I feel very thankful.
I'm turning into a cry-baby at work, so I'm going to stop for now, cause there are people all around me and I need to dry it up-haha. Thank you for sharing your friendship with us on K95 and I hope you have a Happy New Year!
As my Grandma Lantz used to always say to me....See ya next year:)
Kelley

Cuddlebuddies

Hello there 11/16/09

Hope all is well. Things have been so busy around here. First of all we got a puppy at the Arabian horse show. Someone had the cutest little dog and they were trying to find it a home...so we ended up taking him home. We have all pretty much fallen in love with him, because he is so dang cute and has the sweetest puppy dog eyes. We named him "Tucker" because he gets all tuckered out and sleeps...you know when their bellies get full they just pass out...wait a minute, I do that too:)

We are in potty training mode and the "no bite" stages so I feel like I have a new baby in the house...I am constantly checking on him and making sure he doesn't chew up shoes and pencils or whatever is on the floor.

John and I are both trying to get him to snuggle with us at bedtime, but right now, John is being a real "dog-hog". Even when Tuck curls up next to me John teases him with a toy so he will come over to his side of the bed. John has been taking him to work sometimes and Tucker is really loving that.

The goats and llamas are a little scared of Tucker...all 7 pounds of him LOL. I don't have any idea why. He chases them around, but all in all almost everyone has accepted him quite well.

Enter the cat Hemi:) Hemi avoided Tucker at first but this past week he would run up to Tuck and swimg his declawed paws like a boxer...with a pow pow pow...sort of a left, right undercut...and Tucker would just look confused like what the heck is going on?

Well, we had a break-through last night. Tucker curled up in Hemi's blanket and fell asleep, so I threw another small blanket on the couch and Hemi curled right up next to him. We were all in shock! I'm hoping this will be the makings of a great friendship and they will become cuddle buddies..I'll let you know how it goes:)

As an adult, I love helping come up with outfits for the kids and the whole family. Sometimes my costume skills aren't what they should be. My son Hayden loves to tell the story about when he was a bat (with wings and everything...and we put black on his face) and almost every house we went to people would ask..."Are you a chimney sweep?..."Oh, come to the door honey...this little boy is a cutest chimney sweep." Hayden would just give me that kid glare, but then we would laugh.

Another year he wanted to be Garfield (the comic strip cat)...everyone kept calling him Tigger.

But another yr. we decided to make him "Spiderman" not the comicbook character, but a man with fake spiders crawling all over him...I thought easy...I got a gray sweatsuit, cut the ring part off those black spider rings and hot glued those bugs all over him. It was cool, but as the night went on he would lose a spider here or there and then we noticed this big cat following us. Maybe he thought the spiders were real but there he would be...everytime we looked back. It kinda freaked Hayden out (he was still pretty young at the time). We video taped the cat and love to watch the video back. He's not marked by it or afraid of cats haha.

We have had some great costumes too though. One yr. Dylan was Mario from video games. Hayden was a hilarious nerd. I was the tooth fairy year before last and took marshmallow bits and dried them out and put "fake teeth" on a tiera and the wand was a toothbrush. I carried a basket of floss and gold coins. This year John and are thinking Clint Eastwood and Miss Kitty or a Dancing With the Stars couple or Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein.

There is reasoning behind that...John had thyroid surgery and has a long scar on his neck ...perfect for Frankeinstein or a Clint Eastwood "Hang em' High" scar. We are still shopping around for ideas.

Eli (6) wants to be a pirate (again)...he's like me with the cat costumes. Haley (9) is all about the princess, mermaid or Hannah Montana girl stuff. Our other boys Dylan, Hayden and Luke will be all about hanging around the house trying to scare people...I can image all 3 as zombies this year...but who knows!

I have seen a lot of swine flu doctor outfits and Michael Jackson costumes.

I think one of the cutest kid costumes I have seen on line is the bag of jelly beans or grapes where you use balloons. (Keep in mind they can't sit down).

I also saw a cloud where they used pillow stuffing all around them and put a cardboard lightning bolt through it. The other kid was carrying an unbrella and had a raincoat on and they were "cloudy with a chance of rain".

Another one thats pretty clever is the small boxes of cereal with plastic knives through them glued to an outfilt and they are a "cereal killer".

A neighbor boy was wearing a straight jacket with a mask on his face and his Dad was carting him around on a dolly (he was Hannibal Lector). Those are the best I have seen.

Tulsa State Fair!!!

It's seems like forever since I have blogged! It's been so crazy at the radio station lately.

First of all they are re-doing (is that even a word?) the entire radio station! I stepped in glue yesterday....anyone know how to get glue off your shoes? I'm still looking for the bottom half of my computer...this place is messier than my house!

I am loving the fall weather...I don't know what the deal is with the summers in OK lately...it just seems so much more sweaty. I never sweat like I do now. Is that just me or were you sweaty too this summer?

Anyway, I'm excited about the Tulsa State Fair! There are some great country bands coming like Keith Anderson, Emerson Drive, Blake (the twiter-maniach) Shelton and Joe Nichols!

I noticed on the flyer that they have seals and pig races this yr! I also saw llama shows!

I'm not going to have my llama babies up to speed yet...the whole training thing isn't really working yet. They are sweet and come up to you...but then they run off and wrestle and spit on each other. I think Boo Boo was trying to ride Teddy the other day (I guess that was what that was!) lol! They are only 7 months old:)

Talk to you later:)

Llama training in progress...well, almost:)

If you haven't heard yet...John got me 2 baby llamas for my birthday. They are so cute!!!! They are both 5 months old and both boys! I have been having so much fun with them.

They have totally different personalities, but I just love them both so much! Teddy is brown and white. His hair on top is sticking up and crazy like he just woke up. He looks like a muppet and favors his Momma. He is a kisser and is very cuddly and will come up to you and eat from your hand. You can brush him and he is very gentle. He is definately the sweetest of the two! He has never kicked or spit.

Boo Boo is sort of the boss, or at least he thinks he is. He makes me laugh so hard. He is solid light brown and looks like his Daddy. He herds the goats and Teddy (the other llama) all around the barn. If anyone gets out of line he will tip his head back and warn everyone that he just might spit if you don't knock it off! I have only seen him spit a couple of times and both times it was at Teddy. Boo Boo will come to you sometimes and kiss you sometimes and eat from your hand when he wants too. He acts like he is just way to busy doing his "guarding" job than to bother with you, but when he's in a fun mood he is very loving too. You can tell he is still young, because while he is doing his "guarding" if he notices everyone else running he will start running and forget he was on guard. I read about that in the llama books. When he gets older he wont panic and run too. Instead he will stay his ground. It's so funny though he will get this Oh my gosh look and start running in place like Fred Flintstone... then kind of stop and look around like wait a minute...what are running for?

I have been trying so hard to find a "treat" that they like so I can train them, because they are really smart. But, so fay they don't like anything but grass, hay & their feed. I even tried ice cream & candy but they just turn their noses up.

I'm really wanting to train them, after seeing so many tricks on the web...so it seems like daily I'm am trying out new foods with them. Maybe I will get lucky eventually. Napoleon Dynamite fed his llama lasagna, so maybe I should try that? LOL! Actually, today I am trying rabbit treats, I saw it on a website so wish me luck!

I will try and take some video of the llamas to put on the website this weekend.

Have a great weekend!

Anyone seen my "There's no way I can hold my stomach in all day jeans?"

C'mon admit it...we all have them... clothes of all sizes...you have the 'man, my butt is looking good today' jeans, the 'there's no way I can hold my stomach in all day jeans' and the 'one of these days I'm going to get back into those jeans-jeans' and "old faithful"... the sweat pants....the comfy ones we put on when we get home so we can let it all hang out and watch Dancing With the Stars!

We are getting pictures taken today at work...oh....didn't you dread that day at school? My Mom would always want me to wear a certain outfit...and of course I would want to wear something else.

It didn't really matter, because in my pictures my hair would be sticking out ...or one eye would be amost shut...but not enough for retakes-lol.

I have been looking in the mirror lately thinking I'd like to lose some weight....not a ton of weight, I just want to be able to get into some of the clothes I wore say...back in high school. am I dreaming?

Remember the days when we didn't have to worry about jiggle butts or muffin tops? I look at those girls now and think...Oh, your day is coming:)

The thing that really drives me crazy is that extra meat that hangs under your arms. I used to love cuddling up to my Granny's arms. They were soft and you could just sort of sink into them when you curled up in her lap. Yes, I loved it, but I don't want to have that ...not yet!

I used to love to work out when I was in school & college...but now it's the last thing on my mind. I'm so busy with work and the kids. Just the thought of running down the street (unless someone's chasing me) sounds boring. Why would I want to get all sweaty if I just took a shower & got all fixed up earlier? I know, I know, it sounds so lazy, but I would rather curl up on the couch and do a crossword puzzle.

I was one of those skinny girls in school...the ones that never had to hold in their tummy and ate anything they wanted. Well, I'm here to tell you, there will come a day...after you have kids, when you wake up and look look at a picture someone has taken of you and you are like "Who's lard butt is that?" and then you realize it's yours!!!! It happens to us all. Then you start comparing your body to your friends. What a cruel joke life has played on us! Well, I know I won't be giving up nachos or Nutty Buddies anytime soon so I'm trying something.

It's called Healthe Trim. So far nothing has happened, but it's only been a week. The hardest part for me has been drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day. I mean really....who drinks THAT much water? I have to carry a water bottle everywhere I go, just so I will remind myself to drink it.

The company that makes this says you don't need caffine, but I still get my cup of coffee in and a glass of sweet tea later in the day. I don't know if this stuff is going to work for me but I will let you know:) It doesn't say I HAVE to work out anywhere or EAT RIGHT. So, it's worth a try right?

This stuff has been on Oprah, Tyra and 60 minutes...so it oughta work! I will let you know right after I finish this bag of oreos-haha JUST KIDDING! I will let you know if it helps me :)

I'll be Lookin' for ya!

Wow...I'm sitting here right now... I just found out Uncle Zeb died. Remember Uncle Zeb? The cartoon show...his cartoon camp? I loved him!!! His black cowboy hat and yellow bandana scarf. Those litte glasses.

I will never forget being on his show. He had a little area on the set where the kids would sit (sorta like bleachers). We would watch him play games with the kids (usually the birthday kid that day) and they would win goofy prizes like a wooden spoon or something a kid would never want and the kid would make a face (like are you kidding me?) and then they'd zoom in on Uncle Zeb and he'd make a goofy face. They showed cartoons like Popeye, Little Audry and all those old black and white cartoons. I remember a buzzard mom with her baby birds...and one of them singing "I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee". There are so many old cartoons I would love to show my kids.

Close to the end of the show each kid got to walk over a bridge where Uncle Zeb had a microphone and he asked you your name and who you wanted to say hello to. The time I was on the show I had practiced all week who I was going to say hello to....I had a list of people in my head. Then at the moment, when I was there, eye to eye with Uncle Zeb, I became star-stuck. I opened my mouth but nothing came out. It seemed like 30 minutes had passed by. Then Uncle Zeb takes off his black cowboy hat and puts it on my head...again I have this blank stare on my face and my jaw just hanging there. There is silence that seemed like forever again. He smiles and says something clever and kind of shoos me to get to my brother, who is 3 yrs younger than me, that says his entire name and hello to everyone in our family...even Grandma's and Grandpa's! I look back and laugh now, but at the time it was serious business to me. LOL

The best part of the show...was at the very end when everyone gets to run back on the set and jump up and down while they play this song that starts and stops and starts and stops. The cameraman would zoom in on kids and zoom out real fast. It was the best show where you could just act like a bunch of monkeys jumping around.

I saw Uncle Zeb a few years ago somewhere...he wasn't wearing his Uncle Zeb outfit but I looked at him and I knew it was him. I smiled really big and he smiled back and I said Hi Uncle Zeb! He chuckled and waved.

I'm sure going to miss you Uncle Zeb. I'll be lookin' for ya!

llamas, grape popsicles, naps and cookie breaks...and I found out what a bursa is!!!

Wow! Can't believe it's August already! The kids will be in school before we know it!

Hope you are having a nice summer.

I still have to wear this sling on my arm...one more week. It's driving me crazy!!!! Don't know if you heard but I fell standing on the bathtub reaching for some fancy-smancy conditioner and biffed it! I ended up breaking something I had never heard of ...a "bursa". It's like a gel pack on the end of our elbows...don't know if I will get it back or not. It hurts though...so protect yours:) Actually, the doctor said it did it's job by keeping me from breaking my elbow. So, I got that going for me. I hope I grow a new one...I'll probably need it...as clumsy as I am:)

This weekend my birthday llamas arrived! The Armstrong family e-mailed me one day after I was talking about wanting llamas and they had 2 boys! A multi-colored one and a solid brown one. They are five months old and soooooo cute.

We went to their house to see them and just fell in love with the boys! They were giving us nose kisses on our cheeks and I knew right then they were perfect!

We have named them Teddy and Boo Boo, becuase they both look like little fuzzy bears.

They seemed a little shy at 1st this weekend in their new digs...but happy. The horses and goats were all around them checking them out...farm animals are so social-lol

Boo Boo has taken-a -liking to one of the the neighbor's horses that keeps visiting....in fact he was trying to nurse from him....but he figured out pretty quick he was barking up the wrong tree. The horse is still coming over to say hello. It's funny how all the other animals are just crazy about them!

They are eating grain pretty well..I tried to give them a lick off a grape popsicle yesterday, but they haven't figured out "treats" yet:)

We are taking them for a walk tonight...they have new little halters and seem to like them. Did you know they have soft padded feet and little toe nails? I had no idea! I'm learning all kinds of new stuff. It's funny Jim (Carey) asked me why I wanted llamas and goats. They are just so sweet. It's hard to explain, but i just love feeding them and learning about them.

I put a slide-show on the website if you want to see them on the cash and carey page. I also have photos of them on facebook (I'm under Kelley Cash). I'm also doing the twitter thing (under Kelley Cash) if you are on it look for me:)

Well, it's nap time...I love nap time..everybody should take naps:) lol . Naps and cookie & kool-aid breaks...people would be a lot more smiley if they did that everyday!!!

The Dance of Cancer

Last night I was watching some of the shows we had DVR'd and one of then was "So You Think You Can Dance". I know, some people (mainly men) aren't crazy about this show. But, the episode I saw last night was different. It moved me to tears.

The choreographer that created this particular dance has a good friend going through breast cancer right now and he made the dance to honor what she has been through.

It was amazing. Please click this link and watch it:)

What I did on my summer vacation:)

Have you ever gone on vacation in the heat of July? What were we thinking? lol.
We had a blast though...we took the entire family to Silver Dollar City in Branson.
7 in my family, 5 in my brother's and Nana and Gramps.
A total of 8 kids. Somebody told me once when the kids start to out number the adults
it's time to stop!

How quickly we forget the questions...you know, the questions kids ask on road trips...
How much longer? Are we there yet? What's for dinner and my personal favorite...
Where are we going? Which, after asked for the 3rd time on the way to Branson...
I almost peed my pants after my husband shouted back once to the kids...
"To hell if we don't change our ways". (We started getting creative with our answers as the
vacation went on:)

When we drove through Branson I was so surprised...it has changed so much since I was a kid!
It was like Vegas or something (I've never been to Vegas, but that's sorta what I imagine it).

As we were driving, John saw a confederate flag bikini, then we noticed they were on every corner.
He said it was "destiny". He tried his best to talk me into it.
We saw the General Lee at a place called Cooter's and the boys were all excited.

The 1st night we went to see the Balknobber's music show. John accidently called them the hobbknobber's
which we all though was hilarious. During the show, Eli (our 6 yr old) noticed a man sitting
behind us with a John Deer cap, no teeth and overhauls and decided to shout to everyone around
him that there was a real "Baldknobber" sitting behind us. I have to admit, He did look like a Baldknobber,
but it took a while to convince him that it was just someone coming to see the show.
On the way back to the hotel the boys were in the backseat discussing the differences
between a hillbilly and a redneck. Eli said we were definately not hillbillies we were rednecks.
I guess I might be a redneck calling to check on my goats to make sure our neighbor
gave them their milk bottles. It's the 1st time we have left them with someone else.haha

Silver Dollar City was so fun! The kids loved the rides. The men loved squirting people.
It cost 25 cents to squirt people as they went by on the Lost River Ride.
They became like big kids, drenching unexpecting riders. looking at their faces...
I could imagine what they were like at about 5 yrs of age.

I love all the "smells" in the Ozarks. Imagine Wood, BBQ, candles, homemade fudge and saltwater taffy.
All of the stores are fun too. We saw glass blowers, candy making and the kids even dipped their own colors on candles.
I think I ate enough funnel cakes to last me through next yr. Something else I loved about Branson was the tea.
Everyone drank black tea. I'm wondering if it's as good for you as green tea, because I really liked it!

Back at the hotel we put all the boys in one room and it smelled like a locker room...
we would all hold our noses if we had to go in there to ask a question.
Next time we may re-think that plan:)

My brother's twins (Kate and Audry) were fun to watch. They are like night and day.
Kate the messy, tomboy, wild and crazy type that had a chocolate goatee of food on her chin
by the 1st hour we were there and Audry, the prim and propper girly girl that always seemed to look clean
and groomed while the rest of us were all sweaty and melting.

Lilly (my brother's oldest daughter & my God daughter by the way) was the dare-devil of the bunch.
She wanted to ride everything. She's almost 7, but that didn't stop her riding with the big
kids. It really cracked me up because my brother, Kent gets sick on rides, so he wouldn't get
on anything. I'll never forget him barfing on my brand new bamboo flip flops at Frontier City.
Which I love to tease him about...I have to, he's my brother:)
I ended up throwing those shoes away.

The teenagers seemed to have just as much fun in between texting their girlfriends and teasing each other.

We stopped by the fish hatchery on the way out, it was neat. The kids loved seeing little trout
all the way up to the huge ones! We all stuck or feet in the ice cold water at Table Rock Lake before we left.
The fishermen were all around us and a mist set on top of the water that looked like something out of a movie.

We took lots of pictures. They are on my bio page if you want to check them out!
