Hello there,
I have several friends going through health issues right now and another friend who just lost her Mother. I was on Dr. Oz's website and saw this quote. I don't know who wrote it, but I like it and thought I would share it with you.
"You will never be more alive than you are at this moment, and you will never be more dead than you are this moment." Your goal, then, should be to experience yourself as fully as you can, to become so alive that death will no longer be a threat. Don't see yourself as struggling to remain alive against all obstacles; see yourself as a river that accepts all change because change is natural as you move from one life stage to the next.
It always freaks my Mom out when I saw I'm not afraid to die, but I'm not. I just feel a calmness about it. When I was a kid it used to scare me, but as I grew up I saw it as a transition, a place we all go. A happy place. A place where there is no pain, no tears and the bible says even colors we don't see on earth...so that sounds pretty darn cool to me. So why should we be afraid of that? Yes, it would be sad to leave our friends and family, but in heaven, we won't feel that right? So, when our loved ones leave us, we should feel happy for them. They are going to a better place. Of course we will miss them, but we will see them again, and who's to say they aren't watching us now and giving us little signs that they see it all?
This Sunday Father Matt was talking about how everyone has faith (even if they don't want to). Some say they don't believe in anything anymore because of the way the world is. But they can't say they don't have faith. You have to have faith in something....faith in the pilots that fly the plane you step into...no matter how hard people try and pretend not to believe, we all believe in something. It reminds me of that Bob Dylan song..."You Gotta Serve Somebody". Are we are all serving someone if we mean to or not? Just throwing it out there:)
Back to signs...Do you think people that have passed on give us little signs that they are still watching us and praying for us? A butterfly, a flower? A thought that comes to your mind? A song that pops into your head?
Just wondering what your thoughts are:)
Have a good day!

After losing his parents, this 3 year old orangutan was so depressed he wouldn't eat and didn't respond to any medical treatments. The veterinarians thought he would surely die from sadness. The zoo keepers found an old sick dog on the grounds in the park at the zoo where the orangutan lived and took the dog to the animal treatment centre.
The dog arrived at the same time the orangutan was there being treated. The 2 lost souls met and have been inseparable ever since.
The orangutan found a new reason to live and each always tries his best to be a good companion to his new found friend. They are together 24 hours a day in all their activities.
They live in Northern California where swimming is their favourite past time, although Roscoe (the orangutan) is a little afraid of the water and needs his friend's help to swim.
Together they have discovered the joy and laughter in life and the value of friendship.
Long Live Friendship!!!!!!!
I don't know......some say life is too short, others say it is too long, but I know that nothing that we do makes sense if we don't touch the hearts of others.......while it lasts!
Ah, sitting here eating food that is way bad for me...sour cream & cheese Ruffles while I gaze over to Jim's side of the office...and notice he brought 3, yes 3 of those tiny oranges...one of them is green though...eww! He always eats old fruit. Why? He brings in black bananas and LOVES them I swear he does. He's so Mr. healthy...I used to be like that. I wish I still was. Now, I just want to lay on the couch and watch American Idol and Dancing With the Stars. It's not that I don't want to be healthy. I drug the tredmill into the living room and have actually walked on it twice. It's just I keep finding other things I'd rather do. I'd rather play with the dogs or plant flowers in the yard.
I LOVE and I mean LOVE the show Celebrity Ghost Stories! Have you watched that show? We are DVRing it now. It's crazy, bigtime celebs talk about their ghosts. Some are more angel stories. Some are so funny and some are creepy. We are addicted!
Anyway,if you haven't seen it yet look for it, they have tons of stars on there... the other night Scott Baio was on and cried and then, one of the Golden Girls (the nasty one, that had all the boyfriends...Rue something... didn't even believe in and afterlife...but she does now!) It's a crazy show but a fun show!
Well, better go for now have a great day :)

Back from vacation.....
Hope everyone is doing well, the goats and llamas turned 1. We had a big bonfire/hotdog-cake-eatin'-smore makin' b-day party for them. It was fun, with party hats and everything:)
We looked up and Eli (our 7 yr old) was eating the llama cake, he didn't realze his cake was back up at the house, kind of made us laugh and grossed us out all at the same time. But he usually does... he's ALL boy!
He said some of the funniest things this week to me also. He wanted to talk to me about the "black and white days" ...we were looking at some black and white photos...and I had to explain to him that there has always been color, and that those were just the photos. Later he was listening to his I-Pod to "It's Alright" by Darius Rucker and he said that was Dad's favorite song and he thought he knew why...with this devious grin he said it was because it said "He had a good woman sleeping in his bed and it was alright". I told John and we laughed. He is one smooth talker!!
I opened up email today and a friend sent some cute e-mails of things kids say so I thought I'd share a few that made me laugh. Hope you have a great Monday.

DJ (age 4)
Stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost?'
The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget ....
This particular Sunday sermon....'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with
arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face.
'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that
moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and
asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom,
what is butt dust?'
Had to blog about this...I know so many people looking for jobs right now...I had a remote last night at West Corporations and they are hiring. They are a call center. The people that I talked to while I was doing a live broadcast seemed like really nice people. I noticed they have security there, so that showed me they seem to care about there employees and everyone that worked for them seemed pretty happy. Anyway I just wanted to pass that along to you. You can check out their website at www.westemployment.com I know they mentioned some special benefits for people with backgrounds with insurance.
Also all you singers out there, they are having auditions for a new musical show called "A Hard Road to Nashville" at Tulsa County Line, the club that used to be called Redneck Country in Catoosa! The show looks VERY cool! Where you are on a tour bus live from town to town on your way to Nashville. You can read all about it on the link I put on the Cash and Carey page on our website...and if you make it to the top...remember your good buds Cash & Carey at K95 and give us lots of interviews:)!
Hope you are having a great week! I am about to freeze my buns off....I am so sick of winter & so ready for spring! My goats and lamas are going stir crazy! I'm starting to see a little grass popping out so it gives me hope. Well, drop me a line sometime and let me know you guys are still listening and have a great week:)

Hello there,
Hope you guys had a great Christmas! We sure did. It was kind of an eye opener though with the Oklahoma Blizzard 2009. It sort of came out of no where...but then I thought... did it really?...
I have always felt all things happen for a reason...and well, this snow storm seemed to slow my family way down, but I thought in a good way. It seems like the last 5 yrs or so when Christmas would get close I would get in sort of a cranky mood. I would start to stress out about money (being a single Mom for most of the time I have raised my boys) Christmas was always more stressfull than the usual months of just trying to make ends meet. It seemed like every yr, the toys, video games, etc. got more and more expensive.
A voice inside always said to me... it's not what Christmas is about, but you still have all that pressure. What are you getting the kids for Christmas? You are bombarded by stuff all around you. It's hard for it not to get to you. This year, (being married was a bit of a relief) but having 5 kids, we still had to set limits.
When the snow hit, it just left a sense of peace...everything stopped. No deadlines to meet, we were just stuck in the house. I loved it. We watched Christmas shows together, talked about the real meaning of Christmas. We baked bread....then we baked more bread (the 1st batch was really bad-haha). I trimmed John's ears with the nose-hair trimmer he got for Christmas and we laughed. We chased each other around the house in our pjs and socks gathering up enough electricity to shock each other on the nose. I don't know how many times we watched "It's a Wonderful life.", but I caught things each time I hadn't seen before.
We played in the snow and John pulled us around on the sled from the tractor. It was our puppy "Tucker's 1st ride on a sled! We just had a ball.
When the ice did begin to melt a bit, my ex came by to pick up the boys and got his car stuck and the kids announced he might have to "stay the night". I have never seen John move so fast! He plowed the snow up and down our drive and the street in front of our neighborhood to help him get out- awful nice of him I thought:) haha!
When the kids opened Christmas presents and every last present was opened and the youngest announced "I didn't get a "Snuggie!" that is when we sat down for a family meeting and decided we were going to make some changes for next years Christmas.
Christmas isn't going to be about what you get. For us, it's going to be about what we can do together and ways we can celebrate Jesus's birthday.
We decided we are going to make all of our own Christmas ornaments. We'll string popcorn and make those little chains of red and green paper and things like that and the youngest, (Eli) came up with the great idea of making our own Christmas cards!
We also decided to put ideas down and throw them in a bowl, of things we can do together to honor his birthday like visit the elderly or do the Angel tree or bake cookies for a neighbor (what ever it is we draw from the bowl, we will do as a family), the weekends during the month leading up to Christmas.
I'm so excited about Christmas next year I can't wait!
I got several e-mails this year from people needing help for Christmas, and then follow-up e-mails from people saying the tree they cut from their own backyard instead of the store-bought one was so much more sweet. I think maybe "our real gift" this year was the snow and the "slow down"...for me anyway, because it made me realize I need to speak up and say I'm not doing all that anymore. I'm going back to the basics.
Anyway for me, it was the best Christmas ever and what ever this New Year brings, my eyes have been re-focused and I feel very thankful.
I'm turning into a cry-baby at work, so I'm going to stop for now, cause there are people all around me and I need to dry it up-haha. Thank you for sharing your friendship with us on K95 and I hope you have a Happy New Year!
As my Grandma Lantz used to always say to me....See ya next year:)
